¿What do you know about your eyebrows?

Certain parts of the face are important when it comes to recognizing someone, including their eyes, nose and mouth, which are some of their most distinctive traits. But there are also other smaller facial structures that give that face a special touch. We are talking about eyebrows.

Eyebrows perfectly frame our eyes by being located 2 cm above the eyes. Dynamically and aesthetically speaking, eyebrows are one of the most important parts of the human face. They have a key role in emotional expression and non-verbal communication. Thanks to the muscles of the forehead and the orbit, we can raise, lower, zoom in or zoom out our eyebrows to convey different meanings to our fellow speaker. When someone frowns, they may be angry or upset. On the other hand, if they raise their eyebrows, they may be surprised or frightened.

In addition, eyebrows and eyelashes work together to protect our eyes against dust, rain and sweat and prevent solar radiation and other aggressive environmental agents from reaching our eyes. The color of the eyebrows is usually similar to our hair color, and the amount of hair on the eyebrows varies depending on each person’s physical traits –some people feature thin eyebrows, while others’ are thick and bushy. When eyebrows are down or messy, they can make you look tired or depressed. That’s why I strongly recommend men and women to pay more attention to their eyebrows, take good care of them, comb them and define their shape to achieve a more pleasant look when communicating with others.

Keep in mind that “the eyes are the window of the soul”, therefore, we need our eyes, eyelids and eyebrows working together to express our emotions.
